Review of Into the Wild (2007) by Philippa H — 30 Mar 2012
I think there is a little bit of Christopher McCandless in us all. This is such a beautiful movie, on so many levels. I might just check out of society myself. But I would be better prepared. Even indigenous cultures have support networks.
Silly boy. However, I do understand his motivation. The freedom in having NOTHING. And then making your way on your own efforts, and sweat... coming from a well to do family. The ultimate rebellion story.
Such a sad price he paid. The final scenes are heart wrenching. Especially considering he had two means of surviving at his disposal... yet he never knew.
