Review of Into the Wild (2007) by David F — 26 Jun 2014
A magisterial epic about an unconventional wanderer, this film was nowhere near as good as the book on which it is based but it did do a very good job nonetheless of representing Chris McCandless and his fascinating quest which took him across the United States to Alaska where he died in the wilderness.
I was particularly impressed with the large number of locations used for filming this book, something which gives it an aura of authenticity which was obviously important to the filmmakers.
