Review of Into the Wild (2007) by Alasdair B — 26 Sep 2014
What is true happiness? That is a question every human being at some point in their life asks themselves. "Into The Wild'' answers that question. From start to finish the film is captivating. Emile Hirsch is fantastic as the lead, his performance is so good. The film is emotionally intense and heartwarming.
Basically, the film is about a young man who is not content with the "normal'' life and with society. He wants to go to Alaska. To be free. To live off the land and experience life to the fullest without distractions like money and material things.
Visually the film is stunning, and it has a surprising emotional impact as it speaks to the soul inside of us. It is very well written and acted. It stirs something within you that makes you long for more. I cannot stress how sublime this film is. Its just so good.
