Really a beautiful movie I thought. Didn't go into it with the highest of expectations but I think they a very good adaptation. great performances, cinematography, and good pacing for a book adaptation.
the supporting cast (Hal Holbrook WOW) in particular makes you see how horrible his mistakes were, but his mistakes don't make this any less of a good story or movie, I think they enhance. they provide it with a powerful lesson on human relationships.
