Review of Into the Wild (2007) by Esteban G — 28 Dec 2011
Sean Penn takes us into a journey into the wild with a superb cast and great direction. This film is based on Krakauer s novel (which is influenced and makes references of great writers such as Tolstoy and Jack London).
The film is told with flashbacks which makes it all the more interesting as we comprehend what makes Christopher (played by Emile Hirsh) want to leave behind his family and possesions and travel to the wild in Alaska.
The best moments in the movie are perhaps those in which he encounters some interesting characters along the way in his journey such as Hal Halbrock s character who gives a very powerful dialogue about forgiveness.
I also enjoyed the ending of the movie which has a very interesting message about relationships and happiness. The film is long, but it is worth watching as there are a few lessons to be learned.
