Review of Into the Storm (2014) by Marischa B — 11 Nov 2014
I liked Twister, but too much story, not enough tornadoes. This movie INTO THE STORM started out clichéd opening. annoying kids in car watching a freak tornado and staying as it gets closer and closer... the next 15 minutes, more goofy characters are introduced and I thought OH NO, another disaster of a disaster movie.
But then the storm shows up and somehow the whole vibe changed. It got real, real quick and I started liking the characters, even the crazy redneck goofball duo. The school scene was frightening and extremely well done and it just kept getting better from there. My heart was pounding with excitement of really good special effects.
The use of CGI was convincing for once and the storm scenes are played for real and are a plenty!
I really liked the single father and his two teenage sons and that storyline. short, exciting, don't listen to the Haters, this movie delivered much better than Twister and other disaster films in the past.
