Review of Into the Blue (1950) by Anthony C — 10 Jul 2009
Let's face it: the entire purpose of this movie is to showcase the hot bodies, especially that of Jessica Alba. (I was amused by how much the cameras seemed to focus on her.) And the people - well, at least the four main characters, who also happen to be pretty much the only non-black people in the movie - are pretty damn hot, to be sure. The cinematography with the ocean and the marine life was very well-done also.
But as I expected, the visuals are the only thing this movie has going for it. The plot is completely pointless and basically irrelevant, though it surprisingly picked up a little bit in the run-up to the climax, before totally petering out DURING the climax - I felt my mind wander amidst the "epic" struggle in a sunken plane. But yeah, just watch this movie for the hot bods, beautiful tropical ocean (it makes me really want to go to the Bahamas!) and great camera work - and don't expect anything more.
