Review of Into the Abyss (2011) by Memphis S — 11 Apr 2012
Sobering and honest. Impartial and passionate. It's as much about creating art as it is an examination of murderers, victims, and their families. My only criticism is that, almost understandably (given the victims' family histories), it seemed as though Herzog didn't actually shoot enough footage for a whole movie, so he let dialogues and speeches drag on long after the point had been made.
