A slow moving, ham-handed propaganda piece against capital punishment. Herzog is far more sympathetic to the murderers than to their victims. Even his cinematic prowess can't make these two unrepentant murderers come across as sympathetic figures.
What he succeeds at most is showing "jailhouse brides" for the nuts they are.
