Review of Into Great Silence (2005) by Milton M — 07 Jun 2007
Although I quite enjoyed this, and was glad to see it, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for fear of backlash. It takes a long attention span to watch, and the bell can get on one's nerves. All the same, it's a great insight and makes for good contemplation.
I was disappointed, though, in having some questions unanswered - e.g. do the monks do any charitable works? do they suffer mental illnesses from lifelong silence? and more...
