Review of Into Great Silence (2005) by Chris B — 03 Nov 2007
This movie took patience and I'm sure it is not everyone's cup of tea. Having said that, this is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen and watching it was one of my greatest movie-viewing experiences.
The slow pace and silence brought me into their world and made me feel transported into their beautiful mountain setting. I loved the shots of the monks' faces and I felt as though I knew them by the end of the film.
I walked out feeling as though I had been on a weekend retreat.
