Review of Interview with the Vampire (1994) by Anssi V — 10 Oct 2011
What is good in this film is that it is passionate without being ridiculous, in some ways stylish without being too much over the top and it takes its time without being boring. What is bad in this film is that it has Tom Cruise in it as vampire Lestat - I seriously hated that character and not in a good meaning of the word - and the casting is not that great on the whole, though I liked Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst as Lestat's vampire children.
So yeah, if the film would have taken its time to explain things and to drop some meaningless plot devices, it could have been great. Alas, it didn't, so it's just average. Worth watching, but little if nothing more.
