Review of Interview with the Vampire (1994) by Jacob A — 15 Jun 2012
Now this was a cool idea, learning the point of view of one who use to be be human, but now is beyond death. Like learning from someone who died and returned to tell the tale.
Plus, when you got not only Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt as smoldering vampires, you definatly believe you got something here. I was disappointed with what was being offered. Acting-wise, you can definatly tell some of it's off key, Bradd Pitt looks disinterested. Tom Cruise....I was afraid of him in here, I didn't see Lestat, I saw Tom Cruise being Tom cruise, and to have Tom cruise as a vampire is already scary enough.
The good things about this is the wide use of history, seeing these immortal creatures live through time as humanity advances and grows, what are the vampires doing while all this is happening. It really sets up the atmosphere for the characters to react to. Only if the Characters were more interesting.
So in conclusion, I'm pretty mixed about this one, go ahead and check it out.
