Review of Interview with the Vampire (1994) by J Chris J — 02 Sep 2012
I recently sat through a complete showing of the adaptation of Anne Rice's classic novel if the same name. For me, I felt completely unmoved by it. The casting save a young Kirsten Dunst was really off. The special FX make up was fantastic and the period costumes and sets were amazing. I just really take issue with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in this film. I never once believe their portrayals or get lost in their performances. It takes a then 12 year old Kirsten Dunst to carry this film with her sadistic portrayal as a forever young Vampire.
It is a decent film but I felt it never deserved the cult following it got.
