Review of Interstellar (2014) by Brushedred — 15 Jan 2016
I'm not necessarily saying this is a bad movie, but for what it is, the score on IMDb is insane... It's tied with The Godfather... Come on now. Kubrick did this same thing almost 50 years prior with visuals that were almost on par.. Not to mention that almost every frame of this movie ripped off 2001: A Space Odyssey. It tries to be edgy and "groundbreaking" with "new ideas," yet everything that happened in this movie had been done before. Not to mention done in a better way.
Now this is better than your standard popcorn flick for sure. The science isn't as accurate as it has been in other movies, but it'll impress some who haven't been through many physics courses. And the cinematography is gorgeous and the acting is pretty great as well. But I will say I can't give it a positive review just because of how much it ripped off one of the greatest movies ever made. But it's worth a watch if you're curious especially just for the aesthetics.
