"Intermission" is a raucous story of the interweaving lives and loves of small-town delinquents, shady cops, pretty good girls and very bad boys. With Irish guts and grit, lives collide, preconceptions shatter and romance is tested to the extreme. An ill-timed and poorly executed break-up sets off a chain of events affecting everyone in town. There's the hapless romantice and sex-starved best friend, the hotshot detective and the crook he's after, a young girl on the rebound with an older married man, an ambitiious TV produvers, abandoned fiancee, preteen trouble-maker -- all unaware of how their choices are profoundly intertwined. Add a botched robbery, some brown sauce, a womans moustache, flying rocks and dancing single seniors and you have Intermission.
I really didn't know what to expect from this movie I rented it mainly for Colin Farrell and Cillian Murphy, because they are incredibly actors. But within the first 5 minutes I knew I was going to like this movie. The good thing about watching most independent films are that they are so orginal, just the way they are filmed they way they are written, and everything. This movie reminds me of a Quentin Tarintino film, not one in particular just all of his, of how its played out. It's still not as great as Quentin Tarintinos movies, but it is a movie worth watching. It has some pretty damn funny parts, the best is in the first 5 minutes, which is when I knew I was going to like this movie. The acting and actors in this movie are great, Cillian Murphy who I first saw in 28 Days Later, a great horror movie by the way. Collin Farrell gives a great performance, I've loved basically all of his movies. Phone Booth or the Recruit being the best. John Crowly makes his Directorial debut on this movie. Same with Mark O'Rowe with writing the script. If you're tired of the same movies over and over and want something new and orginal then this is worth checking out.

Day Care will see no Day Camp..
Jeff Garlin co-starred with Eddie Murphy in 'Daddy Day Care'. Which was one of those movies that you watch just to watch it, and watch its few funny moments and never view it again, and you definately don't want a sequel to it at all. Well orginally there was plans for a 'Daddy Day Camp', but thankfully it looks to not be happening from what Jeff Garlin says: "As of right now, no - which is kind of strange because of all the money it made, but as of right now they wrote the script and offered me a lot of money which I said I'd be happy to do, but it's a lot of reasons why it's not going to happen." Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow to write the scirpt and if its not already obvious Eddie Murphy would have been put in charge of a summer day camp.
If it hits #1 go ahead and expect a sequel..
The Grudge hit #1 this weekend, and whats happening? They're talking about a sequel already. I seriously think they sit there and wait until they see the box office results and if it hits #1 they say SCORE lets write a sequel. Sometimes its a good thing, some may say that they do it because they see its #1 so they think to themselves the fans want more. But do the fans really want more? Not really. Have I seen 'The Grudge' yet? No. So maybe I shouldn't be saying anything. And if you look down at the past box offices most of them that were #1 either was a sequel or spawned a sequel, or has one coming in the near future. Thats hollywood for you.
Weekly Thoughts.
This week is going to be one of the biggest weeks for horror fans. First off you have the remake of Dawn of the Dead hitting DVD stands tomorrow, which is good movie, its more of a popcorn flick. Its a movie to at least rent, if you're a horror fan I don't think you would be disappointed in it, of course I know it wouldn't live up to the orginal, which I have yet to see. I will rent the orginal in the new few weeks though, starting with 'Night of the Living Dead'.
Then Friday the movie alot of horror fans have been waiting on finally comes out after getting pushed back several times. I believe it will be worth the wait though, I will be at the latest showing they have come Friday night. I do believe that everyone that loves horror movie has seen the trailer by now and is just as excited to see it as I am. But this still isn't the big finale for the week for horror fans. The finale will come on Sunday on yes Halloween itself. Some will get it on that day some won't, what is this? It is none other then our own Horror Channel. Sometime this week information is supposed to be popping up about which major satalittle or cable provider will provide the horror channel it is only supposed to be one. I have a feeling though that due to them waiting so long there is going to be a big surprise, as in really all or most satalittle/cable providers will be getting it. Thats just a feeling, why else would they wait so long? Either way just tune into your TV on Halloween and scan your channels and look to see if you have it, if you do then you better make it a regular visit when your flipping through channels.
