Review of Intermission (2003) by Laurie A — 14 Mar 2018
As dated as it is Irish, Intermission is a hit and miss anthology with intersecting stories that are charming individually but don't amount to much when taken as a whole. The screenplay reminds me of Tarantino, not his films, the man himself who says nothing new, but never shuts up, and eventually regurgitates something we've heard a million times yet are somehow content to hear again.
Intermission is enjoyable mostly for the players like Colin Farrell (yes, that Colin Farrell) who gives a show-stealing mad dog performance, and a handful of outrageous moments that are fairly inspired if not original.
.. which they're not.
