Review of Intermezzo: A Love Story (1939) by Joe N — 26 Apr 2009
Caught some of it briefly on TCM and it sparked my interest so I rented it. A solid watch. Leslie Howard and Ingrid Bergman were great and also wonderful musicians. Ingrid's character, Anita, was an animal on the piano the first time she played it at the party.
Awesome score.
Very short(70 minutes). Too short really. It did a good job telling the story in the little time but it could have used more background and detail.
If you love classics, and I know you do, see Ingrid's debut and see Ashley Wilkes be an actual character.
