Review of Intermezzo: A Love Story (1939) by Calvin C — 09 Aug 2010
At 70 minutes, it is like a long intermission to a better film. Leslie Howard and Ingrid Bergman are great together, but it was a little TOO dramatic. Howard's character actually comes off as a jerk for leaving his family without a second thought. You don't feel sympathetic to his situation and when he decides to go back, you wish his family would just shut the door. The cinematography is flawless and the music is near perfect.
Grade: B.
