Review of Interiors (1978) by Andreas C — 06 Sep 2008
Per my understanding, this is Woody Allen being inspired by Ingmar Bergman. Essentially, Woody got free reign to make whatever he wanted after the success of Annie Hall. I like how emotionally naked the movie is, and the awkward honesty of the characters.
I like the symbolism at the end of the film, it reminded me of some of my favorite European films, in that respect. It's probably a tough movie for many to take, but I like that Woody was being experimental, and tried to mimic Bergman, a filmmaker that I also appreciate to a high degree.
