Review of Interiors (1978) by Michael H — 02 Feb 2012
Detached yet brutal. Sleek, sterile exteriors with haunting and savage 'Interiors' in all the characters. This is one of my favorite films by Woody Allen w/ one of the best performances captured on screen by 'The first Lady of the American Theatre' Geraldine Page - who knows all too well how to, bring it in, & play in front of a camera as well.
She holds her face up proud and her composure for as long as she's able, then it contorts, crumbles and falls into a million pieces. Diane Keaton role feels like forced Allen writing, but other than that this film is perfect.
No music, just guts.
