Review of Interiors (1978) by Melvin W — 17 Dec 2011
Woody Allen gains alot of respect from me by making Interiors right after Annie Hall. He goes completely out of his comfort zone and makes his first beginning to end serious drama. Interiors is just wrenching! Not only are the 3 daughters afflicted by there mother's madness, the daughters start to deteriorate causing there own lives to crumble.
Plus the mother neglected her daughters when they were children and instead of them being bitter they're still striving for her love. There is so much tension to Interiors, I found it impossible to take my eyes off the screen.
One of Allen's best!
