Review of Interior. Leather Bar. (2013) by Ryan C — 30 Aug 2014
It's really hard to describe what INTERIOR LEATHER BAR really is mainly because it doesn't succeed on any level of filmmaker. At a runtime of only 60 minutes, it is definitely a short film but there's nothing there to make it anything more than a series of short scenes and meditations on the representation and fear of sex.
There's one terrific scene between James Franco and actor Val Lauren where Franco quire wonderfully surmises society's and his own repression. Bravo for him to trying to overcome that repressive streak but unfortunately, do we really need to watch him psychoanalyze himself? Maybe but then the film output would have to be far more interesting, rewarding and insightful that INTERIOR LEATHER BAR.
