Review of Insurgent (2015) by Ted N — 02 Aug 2015

I have not read the books, so from my perspective this series has fallen flat. It seems the creators are trying to piggy back on the success of the Hunger Games franchise, but aren't getting it quite right.

My two biggest complaints about the series thus far: 1) Woodley was a poor casting decision for the lead role. She often seems emotionless and flat onscreen, while also not looking the part. 2) They only cast ridiculously good looking people in the series. This is supposed to be a post apocalyptic future and everyone looks like they just spent a day at the spa before they decided to come out and kick some butt. Honestly, crap casting like this really kills the immersion for me. Ugly actors need work too Hollywood!
