Review of Insurgent (2015) by Nick M — 10 Aug 2015
I haven't read the books to this series so take this review at face value.
I really enjoyed this movie for some of the subtle undertones. For example, (spoilers) when Tris fights against the factionless on the train, it can be taken as her struggle to gain control over her own life and cope with her lack of a faction. The factionless also play an essential role when they come into power, driving home the theme that it doesn't take division of personality to be powerful, it takes comfort with who you are and being able to play the cards you are dealt.
Anyway, to avoid sounding too much like a teenage english essay, I would recommend this movie to my friends. The story was interesting, however, I would also recommend that the viewer see the first movie to understand some of the vocabulary in this movie. Overall, good movie.
