For anyone who hasn't read the books, the film adaptation of Insurgent is a mess, lacking any sense of thrill and tension. Tris (Shailene Woodley) ends up being a clichéd caricature of the typical dystopian hero(ine), failing to convey angst and vulnerability common in all dystopian films.
