Review of Insomnia (2002) by Henry Hull H — 29 Aug 2011
The movie had a good cast and was set up very well. But it was just too slow for a suspense thriller. They really needed more build up before they brought Robin Williams, who played the bad guy, into the film.
Robin Williams did a great job. He is such a popular actor, I think that is why they brought him in early. Al Pacino was just ok in my book. I have seen him in many other movies acting a lot better then he did in this film.
He just didn't seem comfortable in his role. The most confusing cast member had to be Martin Donovan's role. I mean he was there and then he was gone. They really needed to touch base on that part more than getting rid of his character so easily.
The female's in the film were played by Hilary Swank and Maura Tierney. Both did a pretty decent job in their roles. So overall the movie was just ok. I just wanted more suspense and I didn't get it.
