Review of Insomnia (2002) by Fernando Rafael Q — 10 Oct 2011
While Christopher Nolan is a talented director, I can't say that I got as much from this film as from his other works. Though, to its credit, the actors do a good job, the scenery is sometimes breath-takingly beautiful and really, there are no obvious flaws in this one.
It's just that the story never rises above average. It goes through it paces with skill and grace, but lacks... well, soul, I guess. There's just nothing to write home about. But still, average is not bad, and I'm sure that most will enjoy seeing Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Hilary Swank sharing screen time together.
