Review of Insomnia (2002) by Julian T — 09 Dec 2011
This is without doubt Christopher Nolan's worst movie. And its still extremely good. Following a much more conventional storyline than his usual films, Nolan gets great performances out of his cast.
Williams in particular brings a real spark, creating a sympathetic but extremely creepy villain. A keen eye in its cinematography and overall direction.
The original Swedish version simply can not measure up to this interpretation in the least. Alot of intensity in its slow and building nature. If this is your weakest effort Mr. Nolan, let me congratulate you.
