Review of Insomnia (2002) by Joshua L — 30 Jul 2012
I know I am going against the grain, but INSOMNIA may be Christopher Nolan's finest film. The Nolan Brothers' names have been forever bound to pictures such as THE DARK KNIGHT and MEMENTO. However, with its impeccable writing, powerful symbolism and cinematic plot symmetry, all the while somehow avoiding artificiality or didacticism, INSOMNIA remains for me Nolan's best work.
However, the director is certainly not alone in his brilliance: Al Pacino and Robin Williams are typically powerful and Hillary Swank presents a fresh performance.
