Review of Insomnia (2002) by Tanmoy C — 05 Apr 2013
Watching with a 3 days sleepless Insomniac madness, I could relate more to Pacino than any reviewer can go (the sleepless part, not actorwise). Swank had too little scene to shine, but the regular good guy Robin Williams was more than eerie even in brightest daylight & performed with an aura of cold clear conscience of madness of killer.
With Nolan its always everything grand & massive and this movie is no difference. The camera angles & the great landscape of Alaska, the gruesome murder is just the stuff that he does so well.
Nolan has yet to fail ever with anything he has put his hands on, yet this remains the least of the best to me due to the rather murky ending to a vibrating buildup to a potential orgasmic ending to a great buildup.
It's a great movie none the less, just the low of Nolan; but even thats far too great.
