Review of Insomnia (2002) by Simon G — 16 Jun 2013
Nolan's stylish remake filters the plot through Pacino's unreliable LA detective Dormer as 24 hour daylight induced insomnia starts to blur the lines of reality/hallucination and the moral ambiguity that comes along with it.
The longer Dormer goes without the sleep the more his character flaws come to the surface and the more we (and he) question his integrity. An above average thriller with an increasing amount of gray areas that will keep you guessing right up to the conclusion as well as questioning long after the credits roll.
