Review of Insomnia (2002) by Kris K — 30 Jun 2014
A troubling detective thriller that keeps you involved despite not keeping any information from you. The character situations drive this film not the usual who-donit mystery. Only some slight over a acting from the minor characters keeps this from being one of Nolan's best.
It has that typical Nolan story telling style albeit a little more on the nose then some of his previous work. The aesthetic choice of how to shoot the "insomniac" sleep deprived scenes are visually striking and make for an interesting visual treat.
