Review of Insomnia (2002) by Raji K — 20 Nov 2015
Al Pacino is a LA detective sent to the small Alaskan town to investigate the murder of a young girl. In the process of trying to apprehend the suspect, he shoots his own partner and this is witness by the murderer.
The murderer then uses this to bait him into playing things by his way, as Pacino lies about the incident. Due to the Alaskan sun never setting, and his guilty conscience he finds himself a strong case of Insomnia.
Insomnia is a solid movie that has good enough performances and a decent story. It could have been much better, but was overall a satisfying average film, but Given the cast, Pacino, Williams, and Swank, and the director Nolan, it was hard not to expect more.
