Review of Insidious: The Last Key (2018) by Rumit P — 07 Jan 2018
Insidious: The Last Key started out very good and even has some very promising twists, but I felt that the writers lost control of the film halfway or three quarters of the way in, not knowing which direction to take it and ending up with a very confusing mess but still paving the way for a sequel.
I left with a lot of unanswered questions. I felt there were illogical jumps, behaviors of her psychic sidekicks that were unnecessary, and interactions and character development that didn't seem full fleshed out to make some of the characters likable.
Some of the jokes were awkward and a few downright creepy--which might have been intentional. I think the creepiness should have been left to the subject matter, not to the sidekicks.
I will probably see the fourth one, whenever it comes out.
