Review of Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015) by Julian H — 08 Jun 2015

I had high hopes for Insidious: Chapter 3, but at this point the series is beginning to show its age. While it remains one of the best horror franchises in a while in my opinion, I think that it is desperately in need of a bit of new formulas.

Chapter 3 has more of what you'd come to expect, Lin Shaye as our favorite paranormal fighter, jumpy scares, tension and the Further. But Chapter 3 just doesn't measure up to the first two chapters.

For fans of the series it's certainly worth seeing if you're ready for more of the same. I just hope that the inevitable next chapter brings a different twist to keep things fresh and ramps the stakes higher.
