Actress Lin Shaye helps to make these films a bit more entertaining as she always gives a tight performance. The other actors in this film a pretty good as well and there are some effective "boo scare" and creepy moments.

Of all the Insidious films, this prequel is actually the best. Kudos to Leigh Whannell for his decent sense of direction and a fairly solid narrative.
