Review of Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015) by Ricky G — 08 Jun 2015

Insidious 3 is another example of what horror movies have come to. Full of cliches, jump scares, poor acting, and a bad story. I am a huge fan of James Wan and his horror movies and I'll see his movies in a heartbeat, even though I didn't love or generally like the first and second insidious, there are elements of creepiness in those movies and I loved that about the other two.

Wan doesn't direct the third entire but he produces it, and hearing from reviews people actually said it was scary and even better or just as good as the first one. Don't believe them. I wasn't expecting anything scary from the film and I was right, there is nothing to make me scared, even the Jump scares were lazy, and I absolutely hate jump scares, not because they make me jump but because it's a lazy way to make people jump and get annoyed.

Counted there isn't that many jump scares but there are quite a few. Lin Shaye has a lot of talent and it's sad to see her take up only these roles in insidious if she went and did other horror movies she would do even better but sadly her talents are wasted because the other actors do not have the same acting skills she has.

In the end this film isn't scary isn't even enjoyable my girlfriend and I were making fun of the movie the whole time because we never cared about the characters, the scares were nothing scary just jump scares, and the story was very dull.

If you like the other insidious movies you might like this one, but if you're just a horror movie fan like myself you will hate it.
