Review of Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015) by Max W — 03 Jul 2015
Let me just say where in the time line it is. After the 80's were Patrick Wilson's character was stalked, but before his son was in a coma. Once you think about it, this movie didn't really need to happen. This could have been insidious 4! We still don't know what the old ghost hunter was looking at when the second one ended.
Anyway, the film show a struggling family who's mother died. A single father with a daughter and a son. The daughter really misses her mum and tries to contact her, so she goes too Lyn. The paranormal investigator from the first two. They try to contact her mother, but summon something much darker instead. The rest of the movie.
shows how they all struggle with the ghoul with a heart warming eneding! But, because it's a horror movie, no ending is happy.
This sets us up for more movies from this series, but only one more! Don't kill it! Give us a direct sequel to insidious 2, then leave it.
The movie itself is a really tense viewing. At no point can you relax, the constant fear of a face or ghost is totally unsettling. This only makes the film a better watch. Maybe even the best of the series so far. So if you've seen the others, go and see this. And get excited for chapter 4!
