With its simplistic premise, Insidious: Chapter 2 may seem like an exercise in style over substance, but it's also a lot of fun, providing several good jolts that are augmented by a generous dose of gallows humor.

It'll never be as good as the first, nor did this need a sequel but in the end it is a worthy sequel. The cast are back and still just as good. The sets and the playful camera do make a good atmosphere and even though it does fill in the gaps from the first film your not really missing much.

James Wan is still a great ghost-story director but I believe it's time to move on. Overall, it's safe to say that Wan and Whannell (also returning) return to their 2011 hit with a vengeance, gleefully filling in the story before, after and even during that first chapter with even more gonzo nuttiness.

It is best watching the first one just to understand and to be honest, though the film wasn't boring but it seemed they used up their ideas in the first film. Still a good watch but I'll stick with the first one.

Though judging by the ending, it seems they will do a third one...we shall wait and see.
