Review of Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013) by Carlo T — 25 Oct 2014
A weak sequel in my opinion.
The first Insidious movie was good for the first half, but then fell down and became all rather silly once they started venturing into 'The Further'. Well, this entire film is based around this ghostly other realm, and fails for it.
The film is basically filling in the backstory of Josh, the dad from the first film, and then telling us what happened after the first film finished, so it's part prequel, part sequel. Sadly its appallingly acted, simply not scary, and overall is just another example of sub-par un-original horror film-making. Too many 'Oooh look someone just walked across the shot in the background' type sequences, and just plain bad acting.
