Review of Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013) by Jacob R — 24 Aug 2015
Even with a plot that's meant to keep you thinking, it's best not to think too much about what's going on. It's a convoluted and muddled plot that spends way too much time explaining itself and not enough letting you experience it.
Great acting though, especially on Wilson's part and Wan does a good job, things just fall apart on the writing side of things. The dialog isn't very good and again the Story gets too absorbed in itself.
Also the comic relief is funny but really out of place, it doesn't belong in this movie, the jokes are huge tonal shifts. It still feels fresh though which is a huge plus given the state of horror movies and how cliche and formulaic they are today.
