Review of Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013) by Lauren P — 27 Nov 2015
Most horror sequels suck. Bad. But this movie surprisingly didn't. While Chapter 2 is problematic and cheesy at times, it maintains the interesting vibe of the first movie without destroying it. The acting is all great, the cinematography is beautiful, and Wan's direction is really good.
The movie is very similar to the first in structure, but the execution was well done, I thought. There are some weird scenes, and the third act is very confusing and anticlimactic. Overall, Insidious Chapter 2 is the weakest of the trilogy, but still entertains.
7/10.
