Review of Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013) by Jalen M — 07 Apr 2015

The sequel for a now horror franchise from James Wan, who brought us the Saw franchise and now has taken over the Fast and the Furious universe, delves into the netherworld again catching up with the Lambert family as they are trying to escape/forget about the demons/spirits that were plaguing them from the original, only to realize that the matriarch ghoul mother death had possessed one of them without realizing it.

Pretty standard stuff with the creepy house, ghoulish dressings and toys, more the atmospheric type of horror that I am normally drawn to, but alas its doesnt add alot of new tropes or iconography that makes this one jump out outside of an interesting play on the timeline in the second half.

Average but not a keeper classic.
