Review of Insidious (2011) by Raydon B — 10 May 2014
Scary? It certainly is. The first half gave me a couple genuine scares, but when the monsters were revealed in the second half, the film got less scary. Honestly, if you want to scare an audience, keep them in the dark - don't show the monster halfway through, especially when the monster looks like Darth Maul.
.. Anyways, the acting is "okay", nothing spectacular, and the story feels like Paranormal Activity with a couple twists. The formula feels old, and as a result, I can only say Insidious is okay.
