Pete Doctor did an astonishing job calling all the shots on the film "Inside Out". The motion picture is a hour and thirty four minutes , that is a good time period for anxious children . From my perspective , watching children movies in general usually put me to sleep , but "Inside Out" sucked me in making me want to know more and I believe many others feel the same way.

The primary character "Riley" is an 11 year old that is a only child in her admiring family living in Minnesota. Riley's life is superb , having many friends , playing the hockey since she was able to walk and the exceptional interconnection with her parents . Unexpectedly , Riley's father got a job opportunity in San Francisco , leading up up to Riley's happy family migrating to another state .

Obviously , everyone has emotions in their mind right ? Riley has exactly 5 emotions known as Joy , Sadness, Disgust , Anger , & Fear . Just hearing Riley's emotions labels you get the idea of the task her emotions are set to do . These emotions live in headquarters , additionally known as headquarters of Riley's mind.

Each time that Riley makes a memory a crystal ball gets sent to headquarters with the color of the emotion that developed that memory - yellow for Joy , blue for Sadness, green for Disgust , Red for Anger , and purple for fear. More than half of the memories that Joy makes are usually Core Memories that make up Riley's personality . Since , Core Memories make up Riley's personality it also makes Islands in her mind - Goofball Island , Friendship Island , Hockey Island , Honesty Island , and Family Island. These Islands are powered by Riley interacting with other and core memories important enough to remember in a split second.

Joy is basically the boss that guides the other emotions in headquarters . All of the emotion's goal for Reily is to keep her safe , express her true emotions , & give her the opportunity to enjoy her childhood as much as she can. Joy tries to keep sadness away from the control panel, so that Riley wouldn't become sad due to the many changes that she is experiencing in her new state, losing all her friends, and having to start all over again .

In reality , Riley is pretty sad starting her new life in San Francisco , but Joy is extremely determined to guide Riley to see the bright side of this entire situation . Riley's parents feel tremendously relieved since Riley is being very cooperative towards them and the entire situation . During her first few days in San Francisco Riley had a dreadful first day of school , disagreements with her parents , and a blow up at her hockey tryouts . Countless situations after the other led Riley to run away back to Minnesota .

During the film Sadness and Joy are on adventure trying to get back to headquarters. A long the way Sadness and Joy explore Riley's personality Islands and meet many other characters such as Riley's childhood imaginary friend "Bing Bong". Since Riley is currently 11 years old there isn't really use for Bing Bong since she can make friends in real life.

This film is most likely going to have a second part as Riley gets older. The film was overall great , Pete Docter & Ronnie del Carmen did such an exquizeet job on guiding everyone on this film .
