Review of Inside Out (2015) by Alexis F — 21 May 2018

The movie " Inside Out" is an animated fiction movie about a young 11 year old girl named Riley. She is from Minnesota trying her best to deal with her 5 different emotions. Which are joy, sadness, fear, anger, and disgust trying to take over her subconscious. She's doing her best to adjust to moving to San Francisco.

In the movie Riley's emotions are all over the place because she feels out of place. Her memories start changing whenever she thinks back on her life back in Minnesota. The rising action starts when she loses goofball island and friendship island. She starts tearing down her memories because her reaction of the move, joy and sadness start collaborating to try to get back to headquarters.

The climax begins when she has a dinner-table argument with mom and dad. After, Riley decides to steal mom's credit card leading to honesty island being destroyed, so Riley decides to runaway. The use of colors in the movie takes complete focus of the movie by changing the tone of the film by going from pretty and colorful to lonely and dark.

The conclusion is when sadness changed all the core memories to blue. Now all the memories can be a mix of colors. Riley apologizes to her parents and betters her relationship which creates how and better islands. The plot holes in the movie would be that there would be no way Riley ( and her emotions) wouldn't have known about the move, from Minnesota to San Francisco. IN addition another plot hole would be how didn't the workers know who joy was when shes the main character. "Inside Out" is a wonderful, funny and entertaining and full of surprises film which allows you to see how each emotion has a necessary role to play and carry out their duties in the brain.
