Review of Inside Out (2015) by Evelyn L — 21 May 2018
"Inside Out", is one of many Pixar films that finds its way to our hearts. This film has created such accomplishments.The filmmaker , Pete Docter has blown our minds with this film it has won ,"Best Animated Academy Award".
How did he do it? This film explores the mind of an 11 year old named Riley Kaitlyn Dias. Her actions/emotions are controlled by fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Joy (Amy Poehler), which plays as the main leader of Riley's emotion.
The film starts off with Riley's family leaving from Minnesota to San Francisco causing Riley to leave her friends,hockey team, and memories in Minnesota and start a new life in San Francisco . Riley does not love the change but goes through her days creating new memories being controlled by her emotions .
Her emotions are incharge to keep the islands in her head growing into new ones , store "long term memories" and especially take care of the core memories. "Sadness " interferes with the core memories causing the only "Joy" Riley has, the core memories , and "Sadness" to be stuck in the "long term memory ", which is far from Riley's emotion control leaving Fear,Anger, and Disgust in charge .
Riley throughout is not having a good communication with her parents which is making the ride back to home even more difficult for "Joy" and "Sadness". Even worse , Riley is making a bold move that is unexpected .
This film will have your emotions all over the place. Each emotion will touch your heart and eyes with their vivid colors and the enormous impact they have on Riley. Join Riley's mind and explore the everyday routine of such dynamic emotions.
