There is a stubs l stigma in the Academy against animated features winning any Oscars other than best animated film. Which is a real shame, since the absolutely ingenious and sad and heartwarming Inside Out was not only the best animated movie, but also simply the best movie of 2015.
It is funny and entertaining, but also deeply emotionally impactful. The animation is as beautiful as ever, and the story is a masterpiece.
