Review of Inside Out (2015) by Matt A — 31 May 2016
Pixar is at its best when zero dialogue is being spoken on screen, they know how to portray emotion without words, and that is a powerful strength. Inside Out certainly has a complicated backdrop, but it was not necessary that every bit of it be explained.
Literally everything was explained, even at the expense of the story. I loved the concept of this film, even the plot (even though it is a little hard for a young child to relate to), but I felt like the story was a little too full of unnecessary turns and detours as if the filmmakers got too attached to some of their favorite scenes and couldn't take them out.
